About The Alpine Playhouse
The Alpine Playhouse Since 1969 when an ambitious group of McCall , Idaho residents joined with the community and local businesses to transform the town's old Catholic Church into a theater, the Alpine Playhouse has provided McCall with a home for the performing arts. The Alpine offers local artists a place where they can gather to create, challenge and inspire each other. The Alpine has presented a variety of plays including: Steel Magnolias, Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Bye Bye Birdie & Burnt Butterscotch Pudding. The Playhouse has been home to numerous high school productions, children's showcases, theater workshops, concerts, and humanities lectures. It has sponsored local Shakespeare in the Park presentations and residencies by the id theater Company. The Alpine Playhouse is a true community theater that has nurtured the talents and visions of McCall artists too numerous to name.
