The Frances Starr Todd Fellowship
Established in 2017, with the support of Mrs. Todd’s family, the Frances Starr Todd Fellowship honors long-time friend and supporter of id Theater/Seven Devils Playwrights Conference, Frances (Fay) Starr Todd who passed away in 2014. Fay had a special interest in arts education and the active inclusion of student artists in the development process.  

2018 - Shay Dite

​Shay Dite graduated from Colorado State University studying scenic and costume design. Her recent works include The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (scenic design), A Little Night Music (assistant costume design), and Urinetown (scenic design). After Seven Devils, Shay went to Tennessee to work at Cumberland County Playhouse as the costume shop assistant.

Shay's renderings, below, came out of her discussions with the four playwrights working toward staged readings. The goal of these "virtual design meetings" is to allow the playwright to explore the physical world of the play.

2017 - Sabrina Reed

The inaugural recipient of the Frances Starr Todd Fellowship, Sabrina Reed, came to us from Scottsdale, Arizona. Sabrina is a multi-disciplinary artist, with a background in set design, props, lighting, and scenic painting, Sabrina works with the Student Workforce and Training (SWAT) Team at Scottsdale Community College, and is a recipient of the Kennedy Center/American College Theater Festival – Region 8 Award for an unrealized set design.
